Janet Smith became a Board Member when the owners took over the Board in the mid 1990’s when they discovered property taxes had not been paid for some time on the property and later discovered money had been embezzled from the Association by Management. Janet lives in a suburb (Cumberland) of Indianapolis where she has lived since 1986. She has been retired from Roche Diagnostics since 2006 where she was a Documentation Consultant. She has three children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and will celebrate her 66th wedding anniversary this year. She loves using their timeshare for traveling with their family to many different destinations and for a couples getaway with friends to Mexico and America.

Since retiring, she spends the winters in Florida where she enjoy tennis, pickleball and line dancing. During the summer in Indiana she has a large vegetable garden that she enjoys planting, picking and canning for the winter and also playing pickleball nearby. In Florida she opened and directed a Faith-based transition home for women released from prison from 2015-2020. We closed the home due to Covid-19 but continue with our ministry of financially helping women who have unexpected expenses and struggle to make ends meet as a result of their record. She went on a mission trip to Poland for two weeks in 2022 to help the churches with the Ukranian refugees and again in June 2025 to help with the 1 ½ million refugees who remain in the country. She loves traveling to England where her family roots are and Europe because of all the history.

Janet’s favorite thing to do whenever they come to Indian Peaks is horseback riding and eating at the Grand Lake restaurant overlooking the lake. As a Board member she is committed to making sure we have excellent management who will keep the facility in top shape for owners and visitors and provide a pleasant vacation spot at an affordable price.

Dani Hecker purchased their first week at Indian Peaks in 2010. Shortly thereafter, they purchased a second week. She was elected to the Interval Owners HOA about 10 years ago.

She has been a CPA for more than 40 years and held licenses in 5 states, including Colorado. Earlier in her career, she lived and worked in Vail, CO. There, she managed a large condominium complex.

She has been married for 36 years. Her husband is from Colorado but they’ve made their home in Lincoln, NE, where he was employed by the University. Lee Anderson, Secretary
Lee Anderson grew up on a farm in Iowa and, after college, spent 18 years managing an auto shop and parts store. From there, he served as a deputy at the Polk County Jail before moving on to the State of Iowa Corrections, where he worked for 8 years and retired as a lieutenant.

His next chapter took him into education, teaching 8th Grade Science at Des Moines Public Schools for 18 years. After retiring from teaching, he's enjoyed giving back to the community through volunteering at the Polk County Senior Center, Angel Food at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Des Moines Food Pantry at King Elementary and Moulton Elementary, and the Temple Mission Church food pantry.

About 14 years ago, John invited Lee to serve on the Indian Peaks Board, and he's been grateful for the opportunity to contribute since then.

His family includes twin sons and a daughter, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, and six wonderful grandchildren. Through it all, the person who has kept everything organized and moving forward is his better half, Pat.
